Warn me if I am not currently financial.
I work in extremely remote desert areas all the time, and I am disturbed that you don't notify users if they are not currently financial. This is actually life-threatening and you should take it much more seriously as it is your duty of care.

turn on remotely
I would like to be able to log into my account and turn my Spot Gen 3 remotely. If lost or stolen I would then be able to get location and then go and retrieve

Better activation instructions.
You should say to hold the power button down until it flashes to power on. You do say this to power off however.
Please state exactly which number is ESN and Authorisation code as it
too hard to work out! There is three numbers on the side of the box or bottom of the box if you stand it up. there are also two other numbers on two separate pieces of paper inside. So from your instructions it is one of the numbers on those pieces of paper but the format of having a dash after the first digit is…3 votes -
We need a better way of labelling (marking) the various function buttons on SPOT gen3
The function buttons on our SPOT gen3 have all rubbed clean - no labels visible. Fine for my wife who uses it regularly but hopeless for me who uses it only once or so in a blue moon - no idea what button to press to say I'm OK or to track etc etc. Perhaps colour-coded buttons or deeper etching and better inking of the label icons into the surface of each button? (otherwise a brilliant device, thanks!)

Make it easier to open coordinates in google maps.
The coordinates in the shared page are very difficult to copy and paste into a mapping application. The coordinates that get sent via text are also hard to use, and not in the correct format to past into google maps. On both the texts, as well as the shared page, the coordinates should be a hyper link which allows you to open them in the mapping application of your choice, to make it easier to drive there.

While the tracking is stored for only 30 days, longer adventures are stored on the phone app.

Save Filter Preferences While Tracking a Trip
My organisation uses multiple SPOTS to track groups regularly. When i want to view the tracking of just one device I enter in the spot number and date preferences that I would like to be viewed. Everytime the session times out and I log back in I have to re-enter my preferences I want to view and start again. It would be great if my preferences could be saved while tracking a trip.

Mountain Bike/ Cycle Frame Spot Harness
Market through europe and other countries a soft harness for mounting spot gen 3 to a mountain or other pedal cycle.
The belt or shoulder harness that can be found on your accessories site"SPOT Personal Tracker Rugged Carry Case - Mossy Oak Camo" isn't really suited to bike mounting. Look at something like the American brand Bedrock bags and their Spot harness. Possibly market this for them in europe?

Combination of SPOT functionality with PLB/ELT functionality for aviation usage
It would be great to have a device which combines the SPOT funtionality with a PLB/ELT funtionality for aviation. This would mean the addition of g-sensors to the device and the ability to emit the 121.5/406MHz Emergency Signal.
Since some countries still demand the use of PLB/ELT devices (e.g. Austria) this would be a real benefit to have only the SPOT device on board with both functionalities.2 votes -
Remote SPOT App sync with tracking database
Add ability to remote sync tracking messages to Iphones. I went out today and put my phone on airplane mode. After 4 miles and quite a climb, i was able to check the SPOT app for my track, but nothing was available. As explained by tech spt, if your device is not receiving cellular data, airplane mode, you will not receive the most current messages. Certainly understand that.

Training
I am a new Spot Gen 3 owner and user. I have been eternally frustrated with the lack of training and support for new users. The manuals provide decent technical information but no practical information. For a device that is intended to be a lifeline for users, i am extremely disappointed in the available training. As a sidetone, your Youtube videos are embarrassing. there are silly, marketing videos that provide no information for new users. I continue to play with the device and test it but i must admit that it scares me to rely on it with so little…
